居合道とは？
About “Iai-dou”
「居合」とは刀の操法であり、護身の刀術。
日本刀を用いて、古くからそれぞれの流派によって伝えられてきた型の稽古を通じて、精神修行や人間形成を目的とする武道です。
「居合道」の心構えは、「人に切られず、人切らず」。
老若男女区別なく演武対戦し、演武の出来栄えで勝敗が決まるというその魅力から、日本国内外に多くの同士がおられます。
“Iai” is a practice of drawing a sword and also a martial art for self-defense.
It is a martial art that aims at spiritual training and human development through the practice of the form that has been handed down by each school since ancient times using Japanese swords.
The concept of "Iai-dou" is “not to be killed and do not kill others”.
There are many people who love "Iai-dou" inside and outside of Japan because of the appeal that they perform in a game regardless of age or gender, and the quality of the performance determines the result of the game.
活動内容
Activities
昭和6年（1931）、無双直伝英信流正統第二十代代宗家 河野百錬先生を中心に、大阪にて日本で初めての居合道団体「居合術八重垣会」が創立されました。
発足より令和2年（2021）に90周年となります。
「礼に始まり、礼に終わる」武道なので堅苦しく思われがちですが、当会では、楽しみながら居合道を続けていただける稽古をさせて頂いています。
見学、体験は随時行っておりますので、お気軽にメールでお問合せください。
In 1931, the club was founded as "Iai-jutsu Yaegaki-kai" in Osaka as the first "Iai-do" group in Japan led by the master "Kono Hyakuren", the 20th head family of "Musou Jikiden Hidenobu-ryu".
In 2020, we celebrate the 90th anniversary since our establishment.
Because it is a martial art with "begin and end with a bow", people tend to think it is very formal and strict, but in this club, we practice "Iai-do" while having fun.

Many people, from elementary school students to the elderly, regardless of their age or gender, enjoy practicing. There are also many female members with "Dan" (i.e., a special, higher grade in "Iai-dou").

Because the club has a long history, we try to absorb new things, learn new things and enjoy practicing with new members.

We will be waiting for you with "Dou-gi" (i.e., a raining wear), "Boku-tou" (i.e., a wooden sword) and "Mogi-tou" (i.e., a mock sword).
